Bun Bo Xao  is Vietnamese beef lemongrass noodle salad, and is very fragrance and savory dish.


  1. Recipe- from Food For Four


  • Sauteed beef tenderloin with cooking oil, chopped red pepper, lemongrass, garlic and onion, rice wine and salt to taste. Last minute, add beansprout and mix well.
  • Served beef  warm with rice noodles, lettuce, cucumber, Vietnamese herbs, chopped peanuts
  • Sauce:  Nuoc Cham with a few drops of hoisin sauce to your taste.

Cooking Tips:

  • hoisin sauce enhances the flavor of this salad (must have).  Do not over cook beef.
  • Can use pork tenderloin or chicken breast
  • How to chop lemongrass
